Brooklyn Basin Shoreline Park

Oakland, CA

Silverado Contractors was contracted to perform the demolition of the Port of Oakland’s 9th Avenue Wharf located within the Oakland Estuary. The wharf was partially removed to build the Brooklyn Basin Shoreline Park.

The removal of the bay fill and shadow enabled the owner to build their shoreline park and stay in compliance with local BCDC regulations. In December 2017, 300 feet of the wooden pier unexpectedly collapsed and slid into the estuary pushing the pier into the water. Silverado was available to assist in the cleanup and stabilization of the wooden pier.
