Warren Hall
California State University, East Bay
Silverado was awarded the contract for the demolition of Warren Hall, deemed the most seismically unsafe building in the CSU system as it was located almost directly on the active Hayward Fault Line. All hazardous materials were abated from the 13 story concrete structure and the pedestrian bridge to the adjacent University library was removed in preparation for the implosion. Due to the project’s notoriety, many agencies, neighbors and interested parties were involved in planning. The implosion went safely, attracting great media attention and thousands of spectators. Seismic monitors were placed throughout
the surrounding area. Silverado then removed the downed concrete.
